How to Hang 5-Panel Canvas Art: A Visual Guide

Five panels, one complete picture. Here’s how to get your Wall Ready Canvas set level and evenly spaced, from the first mark to the final panel.

Leave a 1-inch gap between panels. The sawtooth hangers are already installed. Use the whole-inch measurements below, hang the centre panel first, then work outward.

Before you start

Gather a tape measure, pencil, level, wall-safe painter’s tape and a cardboard spacer cut exactly 1 inch wide. Choose fixings compatible with sawtooth hangers and rated for your wall material and each panel’s weight, plus the tools specified for those fixings.

Check your wall space. The finished sizes below already include all four 1-inch gaps.

Hang your canvas in six steps

1. Put the panels in order

Arrange them upright on a clean, protected surface. Match the image to your product photo: tallest in the centre, the next tallest on either side, and the shortest at the ends. Align their vertical midpoints, as shown above.

2. Choose the position

Treat the set as one piece of art. Above furniture, centre the whole arrangement over the sofa, bed or console. Use paper templates or tape marks to check the outline and leave enough clearance to avoid bumping the canvas.

3. Mark a level measuring line

Choose a height near the middle of your planned display and mark a horizontal line using a level. Mark the arrangement’s horizontal centre on that line. This is your starting point for every measurement in the charts.

To keep the measurements in whole inches, the finished panels’ midpoints will sit ½ inch above this measuring line. All five panels share the same small shift, so the picture stays aligned. You don’t need to calculate or add anything.

4. Mark all five hanging points

Use your size chart below. From the centre mark, measure the listed distance left or right along the line, then straight up. Mark each point with a small cross.

Use the chart numbers exactly as shown—no half-inch adjustments needed. Each cross marks where the hanger rests on the fixing. If you use a picture hook, its nail or screw hole may sit above that support point; follow the hook’s installation instructions. Check the marks against your actual hangers before making holes.

5. Hang and level the centre panel

Install the centre fixing as directed. Lower the sawtooth hanger onto it and check that it is securely seated. Level the panel before moving on.

6. Work outward with your spacer

Hang the two inner panels, followed by the two outer panels. Use the 1-inch cardboard spacer between the canvas edges. Check each gap near the top and bottom of the overlapping edges, then level every panel. Step back to check the full picture and remove your tape marks.

Find your size: whole-inch hanging charts

All measurements below are in whole inches. Across means left or right from the centre mark; up means above the level measuring line. View the arrangement facing the wall. The drawings show panel proportions, not full-size drilling templates.

Medium — 44 × 22 inches

Large — 64 × 32 inches

X-Large — 84 × 44 inches

Example: for the inner-left panel of a Large set, measure 13 inches left from the centre mark and 12 inches up from the measuring line. The spacing is already included—don’t add another inch.

Two quick troubleshooting tips

A panel looks uneven: check its level and hanger seating, then compare its support point with the chart. A gap that narrows toward one end usually means a panel is tilted.

You want to avoid nails: choose an adhesive hanging system that specifically supports your panel’s size, weight and attachment surface. Follow its preparation and installation instructions. The nail charts do not identify where adhesive strips should go.
